Jackson to Sun Valley/Ketchum June 8

The WX is cold this morning so we delayed our departure until 10:00 AM. It didn't help.Riding conditions are miserable. We left on Route 22 out of Jackson which morphed in to Route 33 in Idaho passing over Teton Pass which was quite scenic but cold and snowy.Folks after looking at the picture (sans bikes) asked if we were on snowmobiles!

At Victor we picked up Route 31 to Swan Valley, a very neat farming community, then headed west on Route 26 to Idaho Falls, a scruffy looking town, we then proceeded west on Route 20 to Arco where we stopped for lunch at Pickles Cafe which was very good. After lunch we stopped at Craters of the Moon National Monument and took some photos of the lava beds. Sort of reminds one of moonscape.Heading west again we pick up Route 75 north to Hailey (nice) and to Ketchum/ Sun Valley. We rode around and checked out the area and inquired as to where Hemingway's home is and was answered, very vaguely on more than one occasion I might add, with "over there a ways". I got the feeling that they don't want the 'touristas' traipsing around and gawking at the home where Hemingway did himself in. It is now my understanding that it is a private home. I guess I can't blame them.We checked in to the Best Western Kentwood (excellent) and dined at the Pioneer Saloon a very nice steak house with excellent food. I give it 5 stars(for what that's worth!).The Ketchum/Sun Valley area is beautiful and upscale. We enjoyed it immensely.
